VOLGA – A fire caused damage at the South Dakota Soybean Processors in Volga, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire was reported at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.
“The Volga Fire Department and Brookings County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fire at the South Dakota Soybean Processors in Volga. The fire started in one of the machines in the refinery and it was extinguished prior to the fire department or law enforcement arriving on scene,” Sebring said.
“The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The damage is estimated at $1,000,” he said.
