RAPID CITY – Aberdeen Roncalli shot 347 as a team to win the Lakota Nation Golf Invitational by five strokes over Sioux Valley on Thursday, hosted by Tiospa Zina at the Rapid City Elks Golf Course.
The Cossacks shot 352 as a team to finish second, followed by Milbank at 395.
Individually, Milbank’s Jonathan DeBoer claimed medalist honors, carding an 80 to win by two strokes.
Roncalli’s Mason Carrels shot an 82 to finish second, and Sisseton’s Riley Steen scored 84 for third place.
Sioux Valley’s Kyler Bezdichek shot an 85 to finish in a tie for fourth, and Kyan Overbo’s 87 was good enough for a tie for sixth.
The Cossacks’ Jace Christensen and Tate Steffensen each posted 90’s and in a tie for eighth place.
Jameson Degen and Jack Opitz shot 96 to round out the Sioux Valley participants.
The Cossacks next action is at the Watertown Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 21.
