COLORADO SPRINGS – The South Dakota State men’s golf team is in 10th place following the first two rounds of the Ram Masters Invitational hosted by Colorado State. Jonah Dohrer and Ty Kretz are tied for 25th place to lead the team.
The Jacks ended the day with a 581 (+21) team score. The Jackrabbits were in 11th place following the opening round with a 292 scorecard and improved by three shots in round two, moving into 10th place.
Dohrer opened the day with a 72 (+1) on the first 18 holes, then recorded a 70 (-1) in the second round for his 142 (+1) total. Kretz reversed those scores, starting his morning with a 70 followed by a 72.
Blake Schaper ended the day 8-over with a 128 (76-72) and sits in a tie for 54th place. Matthew Schaefer is +9 (74-75) in a tie for 60th while Luke Honner is +15 (78-77) in a tie for 77th place.
Host Colorado State is 6-under to lead the team standings. Wyoming’s Jaren Calkins sits at -7 to lead the individual field.
The final round will tee off starting at 9 a.m. CT Tuesday.
