PIERRE – The SDHSAA Academic Achievement Team Award recipients for the Fall 2018 season have been announced.
All varsity athletic teams and fine arts groups that achieve a combined GPA of 3.0 or higher are eligible to receive the award.
Fifty area teams were honored.
Area recipients:
Brookings (14) – Oral interpretation, all-state orchestra, girls’ soccer, all-state chorus, boys’ cross country, competitive cheer, boys’ golf, girls’ tennis, football cheerleaders, girls’ cross country, boys’ soccer, competitive dance, football, volleyball.
Sioux Valley (9) – Oral interpretation, boys’ golf, football, football cheerleaders, all-state chorus, girls’ cross county, competitive cheer, volleyball, boys’ cross country.
Deubrook Area (8) – Competitive cheer, all-state chorus, football cheerleaders, boys’ cross country, girls’ cross country, volleyball, football, oral interpretation.
Lake Preston (8) – Oral interpretation, competitive cheer, boys’ cross county, all-state chorus, volleyball, football cheerleaders, football, girls’ cross country.
Oldham-Ramona (6) – Oral interpretation, all-state chorus, girls’ cross county, volleyball, football cheerleaders, football.
Elkton-Lake Benton (4) – Boys’ cross country, football cheerleaders, oral interpretation, volleyball.
Arlington (1) – Oral interpretation.
