COLTON – Chase Reed placed fifth to pace Flandreau at the Tri-Valley Invitational on Saturday.
After receiving a first-round bye, he was pinned by Sisseton’s Vincent Herberg in 2:30.
Reed had another bye before putting Dell Rapids’ Aiden Moore on his back in 2:09.
Reed fell in 4:45 versus Winner’s Achilles Wiluweit in the consolation semifinals, before winning the fifth-place match via medical forfeit.
Cal Pirsenberger (126) went 1-2, while Caleb Dietrich (132), Kolby Peters (138) and Sergio Morales (285) each finished 0-2.
Winner won the team title with 250 points and Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes was second at 228.5. The Fliers took 14th with 14 team points.
Flandreau heads to a quadrangular in Mt. Vernon on Thursday.
