Friday, Oct. 9
12:04 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Third Street for a report of an unruly special needs adult. During the investigation, the special needs adult was transported to the Brookings ER for a mental health evaluation.
9:19 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Eighth Street for a report of a theft. A report was filed.
1:51 p.m. Brookings Police took a call in regard to a no contact order violation that occurred in Brookings. A report was generated.
9:50 p.m. Law enforcement investigated a hit-and-run accident. A suspect vehicle was later found, and no suspect was found.
Saturday, Oct. 10
12:09 a.m. Law enforcement conducted a traffic stop. A male driver was arrested for DUI.
2 a.m. Law enforcement conducted a traffic stop. One male driver was arrested for DUI and possession of controlled substance.
11:56 a.m. Sgt. Sonnenburg received a report of a stolen political sign. The theft was documented.
6:13 p.m. Brookings Police responded to the 3000 block of U.S. Highway 14 bypass in reference to suspicious activity.
7:01 p.m. Law enforcement made contact with a male driver after receiving two driving complaints. Male driver was arrested for DUI and possession of a fake ID.
7:06 p.m. Officers responded to the 500 block of 12th Street South to a report of a domestic disturbance. One person was arrested.
7:23 p.m. Animal bite/scratch/attack
