4:33 a.m. The Brookings Police Department received a call regarding an individual in a mental health crisis. The caller reported that the individual had refused to go to the hospital voluntarily and that the subject had assaulted his mother who was driving him to Brookings.

9:22 a.m. Death/coroner; Brookings Police assisted Brookings Ambulance with a call on the 1200 block of Laurel Lane. A report was filed.

10 a.m. Officers responded to the 400 block of Third Avenue for a report of a juvenile missing. The juvenile was located and returned home.

8:07 p.m. Officers responded to 620 Eighth St. S. for a report of a robbery in-progress. Two individuals were placed under arrest, and the incident is under investigation.

Tuesday, Jan. 4

10:23 a.m. Officers responded to the 2100 block of Eighth Street South for a two-vehicle accident. A report was filed.

Wednesday, Jan. 5

12:33 a.m. The Brookings Police Department was dispatched to the 1900 block of Eighth Street South for a male with no shirt on walking the hallway screaming and banging on doors. Officers located the individual and determined he was highly intoxicated. The male individual was arrested for disorderly conduct.

1:59 a.m. Officers responded to the 2200 block of 10th Street due to a report of a domestic disturbance. The couple was separated for the evening, and no arrests were made.

10:29 a.m. Officer Schneider received a report of a possible sexual assault. A report was generated.

3:16 p.m. Officers took a report of a stolen cell phone from Camelot Intermediate School in Brookings. The incident is under investigation.

4:31 p.m. Officer Hart responded to the 300 block of Fifth Avenue for a two-vehicle, non-injury accident. A state accident report was completed.

4:38 p.m. Officers responded to the 1800 block of Sixth Street in response to a report of a vehicle that ran into a brick pillar in a parking lot.

11:34 p.m. The Brookings Police Department was dispatched to the 100 block of 12th Avenue South for a male attempting to get into someone’s apartment. Officers located the individual and determined he was highly intoxicated. The male individual was arrested for disorderly conduct.
