12:53 a.m. The Brookings Police Department received a call about an intoxicated driver. The driver was located and arrested.

11:32 a.m. The Brookings Police Department received a report of a burglary that occurred in the 200 block of Fifth Avenue South. The incident is under investigation.

4:09 p.m. Officers took a report of theft from an apartment building in the 900 Block of Southland Lane.

4:19 p.m. Brookings Police responded the 900 block of Southland Lane for a 911 call. A person was arrested for a parole violation.

9:02 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Sunrise Ridge Road for a report of a male making suicidal threats. Officers responded, and a male party is deceased.

Thursday, Dec. 30

11:22 a.m. Officers took a report of a motor vehicle accident in a parking lot in the 400 block of 22nd Avenue.

10:57 p.m. Officers were made aware of a vehicle which struck a street sign at Sixth Street and Interstate 29. The vehicle fled, and the driver was later located and placed under arrest for driving under the influence.

Friday, Dec. 31

12:31 a.m. Officers responded to 514 Quality Inn for a report of two individuals fighting with one being injured. One party was stabbed in the forehead with a key. An investigation was made, and the female was party was arrested for aggravated assault domestic violence.

1:27 a.m. Officers took a harassment report.

12:14 p.m. The Brookings Police Department investigated a report of stalking in the 2200 block of Sixth Street.

1:02 p.m. Officers responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury accident at the intersection of 17th Avenue South and Orchard Drive.

2:46 p.m. Brookings Police investigated a non-injury crash report at exit 132 of Interstate 29 and Sixth Street.

7:31 p.m. Brookings Police officers responded to the 300 block of Main Avenue for a two-vehicle accident. A report was taken.

8:14 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a two-vehicle, non-injury accident report in the 1000 block of Fifth Street.

10:53 p.m. The Brookings Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Eighth Street South and Christine Avenue for a speeding violation. The juvenile driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and a controlled substance.
