ARLINGTON — A vehicle caught fire Monday, but no one was injured, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire was reported at 8:18 a.m. Monday and occurred a quarter mile south of 201st Street on 456th Avenue in rural Arlington, said Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring.
“It was found that the driver of the vehicle had become stuck when turning around and the vehicle stalled. The driver attempted to restart the vehicle and the vehicle caught fire in the engine compartment. The 1994 Chevy S10 pickup was a total loss and no one was injured,” Sebring said.
Also responding were the Arlington Fire Department, Arlington Ambulance, and South Dakota Highway Patrol.
