BROOKINGS – A man was arrested after he damaged a door trying to get into the wrong apartment complex, according to Brookings Police.
“Alcohol was a factor in this,” said Lt. Marci Gebers.
A disorderly incident was reported at 2:51 a.m. Saturday at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Park Avenue, Gebers said.
“When officers arrived, they were able to determine that male individual had arrived at the wrong apartment building and began pounding on the door, causing alarm to the residents and neighbors,” Gebers said
“He hit the door hard enough to break the door, intentionally causing damage to that door while trying to gain entry into the wrong apartment,” she said.
The 26-year-old Brookings resident was arrested for intentional damage to property and disorderly conduct.
