Pauline M. Earley, 89, of Brookings, passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, at United Living Community in Brookings.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at Rude’s Funeral Home in Brookings. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, at Rude’s Funeral Home.
Pauline Mae Mostert, was born on Oct. 14, 1933, in Philip, SD, the daughter of William and Sylvia (Knutson) Mostert. Pauline received her education in Pierre, SD, and was a graduate of Pierre High School in 1952.
She continued her education at Augustana for one year and South Dakota State University in Brookings for several years. She was united in marriage to Loren Earley on November 27, 1957. She was employed at various places during her lifetime including records clerk at First National Bank, Perso Realty Co, and Poppen Realty Co. Loren died on June 21, 1990, in Brookings.
Pauline was an active member at Ascension Lutheran Church, Church circle and served on various church positions, including chairperson and treasurer. She enjoyed quilting, rosemaling and attending football and basketball games.
Pauline is survived by her children, Tristan Earley of Sioux Falls, SD, Kella Nelson of Brookings, SD, Kendall Earley of Payson, AZ, and Brian (Shannon) Earley of Henderson, NV; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and brother, Bobbie Mostert of Charlotte, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren; two sons, infant Kyle and Sheldon; and special friend, Dennis Johnson.
