Orcella Peckham, 95, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at the Sanford Hospital.
A funeral service is at 1 p.m. Monday at Wesley United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls. Burial is at Hills of Rest Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. on Monday at Wesley United Methodist Church prior to the funeral service.
Orcella was born in Hendricks, Minnesota, to Christian and Agnes (Lindor) Johnson .
She graduated from Astoria High School in Astoria in 1940. Orcella lived in Brookings from 1954 to 1976, where she owned and operated the Brookings Convalescent Home and also worked for 3M.
Since 1976, she had been a resident of Sioux Falls where she was the administrator at the Sunny Crest Apartments for several years.
Survivors include her five children, Clarke (Cathy) Blomberg of Lake Campbell, Deanna (Marv) Odegaard of Hartford, Rick (Carol) Blomberg of Deerwood, Minnesota, Betty (Doug) Smith of Brookings and Wynne (Rory Peterson) Lucas of Montrose; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Orcella was preceded in death by three husbands, Norrell Blomberg, W.G. Tabbert, and Francis Peckham; grandson, Randy Blomberg; and great-granddaughter, Kennedy Larsen.
In lieu of flowers, Orcella’s family requests that memorials be directed to either the Wesley Neighborhood Outreach Program at Wesley United Methodist Church or New Life Advance International Orphanages at www.nlai.org.
