BROOKINGS – Modern Woodmen chapters recently honored three individuals for their volunteer service in the Brookings area.

Floyd and June Wiesner, above, were honored for their tireless support and volunteering for several organizations such as Feeding Brookings, Habitat for Humanity,  Brookings Health System Auxiliary, Haitian Disaster relief and many hours in their church are spent in their volunteering efforts.

Ken Ahartz, below, was also honored for all his service to the Volunteer Service Bank in many capacities including Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, Brookings hospital driving people to appointments for dialysis and many hours in other areas. Since Ahartz retired, he has enough hours to equate to almost three years of full-time work.
