BROOKINGS – Mills Property Management announces the promotions of current team members Kevin Haakinson, John Mersch and Chad Ebsen.
Haakinson has been promoted to the position of maintenance director. Haakinson will oversee all functions of the Mills Property maintenance department. The business has a team of 24 full-time maintenance personnel working to service over 2,300 rental units spread out over 17 different communities in eastern South Dakota, as well as a home services department that bids and completes projects for private home owners and businesses.
“Kevin has been with Mills Property Management since 2014 and has worked in several different capacities within the Maintenance Department. He has continued to advance throughout his years of service at Mills Property Management. In addition, Kevin recently completed the Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician program and is a South Dakota licensed property manager. His previous maintenance, construction, and property management experience will be invaluable to the maintenance director position,” said Elena McKeown, vice president of operations at Mills Property Management.
Mersch and Ebsen have been promoted to fill two open maintenance foremen positions. Mersch will oversee technicians and property portfolios within the communities of Brookings, Dell Rapids, Yankton and Mitchell. Ebsen will oversee technicians and property portfolios within the communities of Brookings, Madison, Huron, Miller, Pierre and Chamberlain.
“John and Chad have both demonstrated strong leadership capabilities during their time at Mills Property Management. Customer service is John’s top priority and that combined with his mechanical ability makes him a key contributor to the maintenance department as a maintenance foreman. Chad has over 20 years of construction and maintenance experience, and his ability to share what he knows with others is instrumental to the maintenance foreman position,” says McKeown.
