BROOKINGS – South Dakota State men's basketball released the nonconference portion of its 2017-18 schedule Thursday, highlighted by nine home dates and three Power Five opponents. Tipoff times and television information will be announced at a later date.
"Our commitment in scheduling has always and will continue to be securing home games for our loyal fans, as well as playing high caliber competition away from Frost Arena," head coach T.J. Otzelberger said. "We feel that this year's schedule embodies both of those traits."
Fans get their first look at the Jacks Nov. 2 in an exhibition with South Dakota Mines before the regular season opens Nov. 10 inside Frost Arena against UC Irvine.

The Caribbean trip will feature three games at the inaugural tournament, beginning Monday against Wyoming. Day two has the Jacks scheduled to face either Iowa or Louisiana-Lafayette, and the final game will be Wednesday against a to-be-determined opponent. Cincinnati, UAB, Richmond and Buffalo are on the other side of the tournament bracket.
After the Thanksgiving break, SDSU hosts Dakota State Nov. 26 before heading south for SEC opponent Ole Miss Nov. 28 in Oxford, Mississippi for the final game of November.
December opens with a neutral site contest against Missouri State Dec. 2 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This marks the fourth consecutive season State will play at the Pentagon.
A road date with Wichita State Dec. 5 closes the first week of December for the Jacks, who return to Brookings for a two-game stretch against Concordia (Dec. 8) and future Summit League foe North Dakota (Dec. 12).
Another power five matchup awaits the Jacks just three days later, when State will battle Colorado Dec. 15 in Boulder, Colorado.
The final three games of 2017 will see SDSU host Drake Dec. 19, travel to UMKC Dec. 22, and wrap up the nonconference schedule Dec. 30 at home against Presentation College.
Conference play begins Jan. 4 for the Jackrabbits in Fargo, N.D. The complete 2017-18 men's basketball schedule can be found here.
