BROOKINGS – Street repair work is happening on LeFevre Drive and Fallbrook Drive. The contractor for the project is Bowes Construction, and work was tentatively scheduled to start on Monday, which may be adjusted depending on scheduling and weather.

The work is anticipated to take approximately two weeks, depending on weather conditions. The work area is shown on the map at right.

The construction work will consist of replacing sections of curb and gutter, grinding and removing the asphalt pavement, digging out the street subgrade and installing fabric, gravel and new asphalt pavement. The street area will be closed during construction. Traffic from LeFevre Drive will be detoured to Sixth Street, and 32nd Avenue will remain open.

“Please be cautious when driving or walking near the project area while it is under construction. We appreciate everyone’s patience during the project, and we are looking forward to improving the street pavement on LeFevre Drive and Fallbrook Drive,” said a press release from the City of Brookings.
