BROOKINGS – Larson Manufacturing demonstrated its culture of giving back with a recent donation to the Brookings Area Food Pantry.

Through a friendly competition between departments, employees collected nearly two tons of food during the month of August.

The annual food drive is one of several events held as part of Larson’s commitment to the Brookings Area United Way, which culminates in a fundraising campaign each fall.

“Our company values serve as a roadmap for how we do business and how we live our lives, bringing us together and driving our culture,” said Jeff Rief, president of Larson Manufacturing. “Giving of our time, resources and prosperity is a key pillar to our success. The recent food drive was a great demonstration of the generosity of the Larson team and our mission to positively impact the communities where we live.“

The Larson United Way Committee leads the company’s ongoing efforts to raise money and awareness of the needs of the Brookings region and the non-profit organizations that work to improve the lives of local residents.

Last year, more than 80% of all Larson employees contributed to the annual United Way fundraising drive, resulting in a $252,248 donation to the organization.
