BROOKINGS – Brad Laible, a professor of pharmacy practice and a member of the South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions since 2004, has been named the college’s associate dean for academic programs.

He has been serving as interim associate dean since Jan. 10, when Teresa Seefeldt was named SDSU’s vice provost for undergraduate education.

In the position, Laible will deal with student success strategies, curriculum design and academic program accreditation and assessment. He also will continue to teach classes for second- and third-year Pharm.D. students.

Laible has served on the Pharm.D. curriculum committee, eventually serving as chair, a position that he held for seven years. In addition, he has served as a faculty preceptor for hundreds of upper-level pharmacy students doing rotations at Avera over the years and has played a role in the last three Pharm.D. accreditation self-studies.

Dean Dan Hansen said, “Brad has a long track record of success in teaching, research and assigned professional and general service. Over the last few months, Brad has done a great job of serving in an interim role, and I look forward to working with him as he transitions into the role full-time.”

A native of Marion, Laible is a 2001 SDSU Pharm.D. graduate. He lives in Sioux Falls with his wife, Emily, and their four children.
