HURON – Ryan and Reese Jansa successfully defended their title in the SDGA Adult-Child Championship on Sunday at Broadland Creek.

The father-daughter duo bogeyed No. 2, birdied Nos. 14 and 16 and bogeyed the 18th for an even-par 72 and a three-stroke victory.

Ryan pushed his record-breaking title total to 29 to go with 14 runner-up finishes. He took second at the Match Play Championship earlier this month.

Tea’s Eric and Joe Munson were second at 75.

The format is alternate shot, with the child teeing off on odd-numbered holes and the adult on the evens. The adult must be a relative of the child – father, mother, aunt, uncle, grandmother, grandfather, brother, sister, cousin – and must be at least 25 years of age.

The Junior Championship kicked off Monday and concludes today at Broadland Creek.
