Jacks tied for sixth at Summit League tourney

NEWTON, Kan. – South Dakota State is tied for sixth after two rounds of the Summit League Men’s Golf Championship.

The Jackrabbits shot 304 Saturday and 296 Sunday at the 7,086-yard, par-72 Sand Creek Station Golf Course. They have a 36-hole tally of 24-over-par 600.

Denver leads at 3-under 573 (294-279). Oral Roberts (293-289—582), North Dakota State (294-290—584), South Dakota (297-292—589) and Omaha (301-296—597) round out the top five. SDSU is tied with Kansas City (302-296).

The Golden Eagles’ Jackson Howes holds the individual lead at 7-under 137 (69-68). The Pioneers have three golfers in the top five, including John Sand, who is second at 4-under 140 (70-70).

Jack Tanner (74-74), who earned All-Summit League second-team recognition last week, and Liam Georgiadis (77-71) lead the Jackrabbits. They’re tied for 15th at 148.

Will Frazier (76-74—150) is tied for 21st, Matthew Schaefer (77-77—154) is 32nd and Sam Batta (82-77—159) is tied for 39th.
