Jacks Bash 2 comes to campus Wednesday

BROOKINGS – South Dakota State University is preparing for Jacks Bash 2, headlined by Grammy Award-winning Zac Brown Band. Additional artists include Fall Out Boy and Academy of Country Music’s New Female Artist of the Year, country star Gabby Barrett.

Jacks Bash 2, set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, will mark exactly five years since Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium opened its doors on campus. At that time, the first Jacks Bash, headlined by Luke Bryan, was held to commemorate the event.

Joining the Wednesday campus concert event are former NFL stars Chad Greenway and Ben Leber, who will share hosting duties for the celebration. Both Greenway and Leber are South Dakota natives who achieved success as players for the Minnesota Vikings.

At the conclusion of Zac Brown Band’s set, guests will be treated to a one-of-a-kind pyro techniques finale. The finale will be produced by Pyrotecnico, which is one the premier special effects and fireworks display companies in the world and recently produced the pyrotechnics show at the halftime of Super Bowl 55 in Tampa Bay.

Fans will be treated to additional surprises and memorable moments throughout event, organizers say.

Additional reserved grandstand tickets were released last week and are available for purchase at http://jackrabbittickets.com. SDSU season ticket holders, Jackrabbit Club members, staff/faculty and students also can purchase exclusive tickets.

“We are excited to celebrate five years of success in this incredible stadium,” SDSU Director of Athletics Justin Sell said. “We are primed for an unbelievable year, and to kick it off with this epic event will be special. It’s the perfect opportunity to bring Jackrabbits back this fall and celebrate the bright futures of our university and our athletic program.”

First Premier Bank and Premier Bankcard, exclusive sponsors of Jacks Bash 2, said the event will be a celebration of South Dakota’s people, SDSU and Premier’s 2,300 employees.

“SDSU has had tremendous success in recruitment and fundraising efforts. And our Premier employees have shown a tremendous commitment to serving our customers and communities. All of these things combined are a great reason to throw a big party this fall,” First Premier Bank CEO Dana Dykhouse said.
