BROOKINGS – The Holy Life Tabernacle church ministry is celebrating 38 years of fruitful ministry in the Brookings area.

The Rev. Dave Kaufman, a 1975 SDSU graduate and his wife, the Rev. Jeanne, returned to Brookings to pioneer this vibrant non-denominational church in February 1981. They are now the longest continuous pastors at the same church in the history of the Brookings region.

They will have special services on Sunday, March 31, at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. The guest speaker is Audrey Mack from Jacksonville, Florida. Mack has ministered across five continents bringing a faith-filled message to the Body of Christ. People will be encouraged and refreshed. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Holy Life, a multi-cultural congregation of over 300, is filled with loving and friendly people. The joyful atmosphere is punctuated with lively worship and you can always hear an encouraging word of victory at each service. They desire to follow Jesus’ footsteps and spread faith where there is doubt, hope where there is despair, and love where there is hate. Church services are held every Sunday at their facility one block west of Main Avenue South, at 241 Mustang Pass in Brookings. Sunday School for all ages is at 9 a.m., worship services are at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., and a Wednesday night Hour of Power service is at 7 p.m..

Over the past 23 years, the Holy Life church has hosted two Charismatic Pastors Conferences each year that reach over 200 other churches and ministries from many backgrounds across the Midwest with encouragement and support. They also host a Women Alive Conference every October with approximately 200 women attending.

In the future, the church is looking at expansion in all areas of ministry. They believe that God’s love will be manifested in even greater ways throughout the Brookings area in the coming years. As longstanding members of the Brookings Ministerial Association, they are working hard along with others to make Brookings a very special place to live. Come and worship with them as they grow together in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Don’t just watch them grow; come and grow with them.
