Hit-and-run damages Honda at Oakwood

BROOKINGS – An unknown vehicle hit a 2018 Honda, causing more than $1,000 in damage, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

The damage was reported at 6:58 p.m. Saturday and occurred on West Oakwood Shoreline Drive, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.

“A black Honda Civic was parked along the west side of West Oakwood Shoreline Drive. Sometime between noon and 6:58 p.m., a white or silver vehicle had struck the parked car and left the scene without notifying the owner or law enforcement,” Sebring said.

“This collision caused approximately $1,400 damage to the parked vehicle,” Sebring said.

This incident remains under investigation by the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
