High school bowling: Bobcats sweep West Central in home dual

BROOKINGS – The Brookings Bobcats swept their first home dual of the season as the boys and girls teams both defeated West Central 45-5 at The Lanes in Brookings on Friday night.

Dylan Scubelek led Brookings with a total score of 583 and a high score of 218. Adrian Howard finished second for the Bobcats with a total score of 563 and a high score of 207. Gage Zarecky finished with a total score of 505 and a high score of 247. Gavan Stewart finished with a total score of 499 and a high score of 223. Jaiden Monnell finished with a total score of 484 and a high score of 175. Holden Austreim finished with a total score of 474 and a high score of 168.

Catelyn Vernarsky led the girls’ team with a total of 584 and a high score of 215. Kacee Rhody finished with a total score of 566 and a high score of 211. Brooklyn Heib and Alexis Heib both finished with a total score of 563. Brooklyn Heib had a high score of 227 and Alexis Heib finished with a high score of 234.

Maddey Austreim finished with a total score of 530 and a high score of 188. Peyton McBride finished with a total score of 508 and a high score of 199.

The girls’ team improved to 4-0 with the victory while the boys’ team improved to 3-1. The Bobcats will be in action again on Friday when they host O’Gorman at The Lanes in Brookings.
