ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State's Ali Herdliska was named Summit League Softball Player of the Week, announced Monday, after a standout performance last week in Clearwater, Fla.
Herdliska recorded a .417 (15-for-35) average on the week with six doubles, two triples and a home run, driving in 14 runs for a Jackrabbit team that went 8-3 on its spring break trip, including a 4-1 mark at the USF-Under Armour Invitational over the week.
Herdliska had five multi-hit games and four multi-RBI games, including a three-hit game against St. Bonaventure (March 7) and a four-RBI performance against Holy Cross (March 10).
The Solon, Iowa, native currently leads the league in RBIs (26) and is third in batting average (.351).
Named a preseason 2017 Player to Watch by the league, this is Herdliska's first career Player of the Week honor.
