Gregory Robert Hauck, 66, died April 22, 2018, at his home in Lake Preston of natural causes.

Funeral services for are scheduled at 10:30 Saturday at the UCC/United Methodist Church in Lake Preston with the Rev.Teresa Whetsel officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service. 

Hauck was born Jan. 5, 1952, to Robert D. and Darlene (Lundquist) Hauck. He graduated from Lake Preston High School in 1970.  

After working at the Lake Preston Co-op Elevator, he attended broadcast school in Kansas City, Missouri, and worked in Westport before moving to Watertown. He spent a number of years working in the printing industry in Watertown and in Brookings. He married Roben Pike in 1979. The couple returned to the Lake Preston area and lived near Lake Thompson. They later divorced.

Hauck worked at the Kingsbury Memorial Manor for a number of years before working for the Prairie Ag Partners Soil Service Center. He continued to work there seasonally until the time of his death. He moved to Lake Preston in 2016 but continued to spend time at his rural acreage.

He enjoyed music, reading and sports. His quick wit and interest in the weather, sport  and the enjoyment of his nieces and nephews will be remembered by those who knew him.

Greg is survived by his parents; two brothers, Brad Hauck (special friend Joan Wollschlager) Reed (Mary) Hauck; and one sister, Shelley (Dennis) Nelson; nine nieces and nephews; nine great-nieces and nephews; several aunts and uncles, many cousins and a host of friends. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents several and aunts and uncles and cousins.
