BROOKINGS – The Brookings Convention & Visitors Bureau continues another summer of Downtown at Sundown.

This Thursday’s performance features local opener The Bliss. This Brookings group bring a pop and rock mix to every show. To take the headlining stage, David Gerald brings his brand of soulful music inspired by BB King and Stevie Ray Vaughan. The Detroit native will use his jazzy tunes to put everyone in a good mood.

Downtown at Sundown is held from 5-9 p.m. every Thursday night on the 300 block of Fifth Street in downtown Brookings and features local musicians, regional headliners, free face painting, inflatables, bag toss, and food and beverage vendors from local restaurants. The series runs through the end of summer with the final festival taking place on Aug. 23.

The event is open to all ages, and admission is free. The kid zone inflatables, face painting and bag toss are all free. Tickets must be purchased at the ticket booth to buy food and beverages. Each vendor is serving something different, ranging in price from one to seven tickets.
