VOLGA – A fire was reported at the South Dakota Soybean Processors plant in Volga, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire was reported at 6:45 p.m. Monday, said Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring.
“Upon arrival there was a large amount of smoke inside one of the buildings,” Sebring said.
The cause of the incident is unknown at this time and is under investigation, Sebring said.
Responding were the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office, Brookings Ambulance, Brookings Fire Department, Volga Fire Department, and Brookings County Emergency Management.
