BROOKINGS – The Brookings Public Library is getting into the matchmaking business next week.
The library will host a Book Dating event starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26.
Organizers say the event is like speed dating – but for books. Attendees will have the chance “meet” new titles and genres by taking short stops at different stations to quickly become acquainted with a variety of different books.
Each round will give participants time to peruse their potential dates and rate them. At the end of the event, participants can check out any of the books they fell in love with throughout the night.
Snacks and mood music will be provided.
