Ellie Abraham breaks two meet records at First Dakota Relays

YANKTON – Brookings’ Ellie Abraham broke a pair of meet records at the First Dakota Relays on Friday afternoon at Williams Field.

The freshman won the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5 minutes, 6.06 seconds and added a victory in the 800 with a 2:19.86 clocking.

Madison Gray finished first in the 400-meter dash with a state-qualifying time of 1:00.81. She was fourth in the 800 (2:30.29).

Sydney Maher, Emily Rykstrom, Amanda Kees and Baylee Tetzlaff teamed to win the 4x200-meter relay in 1:51.26.

Kailee Bartels was runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.29, which is a state-qualifying time. She was eighth in the triple jump (31 feet, 5 3/4 inches).

Miranda Ysbrand, Bartels, Grace Eggebrecht and Sydney Maher finished second in the 4x100 in 52.11.

Maher took fourth (13.07) and Emily Rykstrom sixth (13.15) in the 100. Both are state qualifying times. Rykstrom was also fifth in the 400 (1:05.09).

Ashley Anderson ended up fourth in the discus (106-7).

Taking fifth were Ellie Hegdahl in the 100 hurdles (16.96) and Amanda Kees in the 300 hurdles (51.19).

Abby Mathiason placed sixth in the 300 hurdles (52.98) and Regan Weisbeck tied for sixth in the pole vault (7-9).

Ainsley Powers was seventh in both the 800 (2:42.8) and 1,600 (5:43.82).

Clarissa Miller ended up seventh in the triple jump (31-7 1/4). Adding eighth-place showings were Mariah McKibben in the 400 (1:14.04) and Kylie Tucker in the high jump (4-7).

A trio of Bobcats posted second-place finishes on the boys’ side.

Devin Coughlin took second in the triple jump with a mark of 40-1 1/2 and was third in 400 in 54.45 seconds.

Eddie Miller finished second in the shot put (43-9) and fourth in the discus (141-11).

Oscar Kavanagh was runner-up in the 1,600 in 4:50.6 and seventh in the 800 (2:13.56).

Greg Opdahl ended up third in the 800 (2:08.14) and Charlie Wang matched that finish in the 1,600 (5:01.82).

Reece Weber took fourth in the 400 (54.64) and sixth in the 800 (2:13.26). Dillon Jensen was fourth in the shot put (42-4 1/2) and sixth in the discus (132-2).

Also placing fourth were Seth Swedlund in the high jump (5-7) and Isaac von Fischer in the long jump (19-4 1/2).

Adding fifth-place finishes were Isaac Conrad in the 400 (55.12) and Nick Rudnik in the 3,200 (10:59.92). Kesmond Willert finished eighth in the pole vault (11-6).
