ELKTON – Elkton-Lake Benton and Deubrook Area split a Dakota Valley Conference basketball doubleheader Friday night.
The Elks won the boys’ game 57-48 and the Dolphins took the girls’ match by a 57-43 margin.
BOYS
• Elkton-Lake Benton 57, Deubrook Area 48
The Elks outscored the Dolphins 18-10 in the final period to break open a one-point game.
Matthew Nibbe dropped in a game-high 23 points.
Marcus Harming added 17 points and Aiden Erickson had nine.
The Dolphins got a combined 31 points from Sutton Fritz (16) and Cooper Holmlund (15).
Elkton-Lake Benton (15-4) wrapped up league play with an 8-1 record. The Elks conclude the regular season playing host to Great Plains Lutheran on Thursday.
Deubrook ended up 5-4 in league play.
GIRLS
• Deubrook Area 57, Elkton-Lake Benton 43
The Dolphins built a 19-3 lead after a quarter and were up 34-14 at halftime.
Baylee Holmlund scored 16 points and Carley Landmark added 12 to go with six bords.
Andrea Vandermeer chipped in with six points and six steals.
Ellie Koenig had seven points and Emma Vandermeer six.
For the Lady Elks, Rachael Krog had 14 points and five steals.
Julia Drietz dropped in 12 markers.
Hannah Krog had five points and eight boards.
Deubrook (16-4, 6-3) and ELB (4-16, 1-7) open postseason play this week.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Saturday
• Flandreau 65, Parker 57
PARKER – Tash Lunday had a big game as Flandreau beat Parker 65-57 in a Big East Conference boys’ basketball contest Saturday night.
The junior scored 33 points on 12-of-17 shooting while adding nine rebounds, five assists and four steals.
The Fliers led 15-9 after a quarter, 25-24 at halftime and 42-38 through three.
Chase LeBrun added 15 points and nine rebounds.
Flandreau (13-6) concludes the regular season at Sioux Falls Christian tonight.
Friday
• Canistota 75, Colman-Egan 24
CANISTOTA – Chase Merrill (19) and Tyce Ortman (17) combined for 36 points for the home team.
Canistota (16-2) shot 51.6 percent from the field. It led 29-11 after a quarter and 52-16 at halftime.
Colman-Egan got 11 points from Camden Schmidt.
Ryan Voelker added seven points and 10 rebounds.
