Deubrook Area and Arlington each earned wins in area girls’ basketball on Thursday night, while Estelline/Hendricks and Elkton-Lake Benton.

 Deubrook Area 58, Estelline/Hendricks 32

ESTELLINE – Emma Vandermeer scored 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting as the Deubrook Area Dolphins picked up a 58-32 road win at Estelline/Hendricks in high school girls’ basketball on Thursday night.

Kadence Bowne, Brooke Koppatschek and Kyarra Blum each scored eight points for the Dolphins, who led 29-20 at halftime, then outscored the Redhawks’ 29-12 in the second half.

Kate Wegner paced Estelline/Hendricks with 14 points, while Sadie Johnson added 10 points and Kenzy Beare scored five points and had six rebounds.

Deubrook Area (6-2) is next in action tomorrow at the Corn Palace in Mitchell for the Hanson Classic, taking on Lennox at 9 a.m.

Estelline/Hendricks (4-7) takes on Ortonville, Minn. as part of the DVC Border Classic on Saturday in Colman. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.

 Arlington 62, Elkton-Lake Benton 33

ELKTON – Hadley Carlson dropped in 19 points and had 14 rebounds as Arlington rolled to a comfortable 62-33 win over Elkton-Lake Benton on Thursday night in Elkton.

Addalyn Steffensen added 18 points and Harley Johnson scored 15 for the Cardinals.

Jo Steffensen had seven steals for Arlington.

The Lady Elks were led by Tevan Erickson with nine points and Aubrey Schindler and Rachael Krog each with five.

Krog had five rebounds and six assists.

Both Arlington (6-2) and ELB (3-6) will play in the DVC Border Classic tomorrow in Colman. The Cardinals play Hills-Beaver Creek at 1 p.m., while the Lady Elks meet up with Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley at 3:30.
