Chargers bolt past Cossack girls, 57-24

VOLGA – The Sioux Valley girls’ basketball team had a tough go of things Tuesday night as they fell to Hamlin 57-24 at home.

The Chargers got it going early as they outscored the Cossacks 20-5 in the first quarter and led 42-18 at halftime. They continued to dominate in the third quarter and were up 55-21 going into the fourth.

Sioux Valley was led by Julia Schneider who had nine points. Kylee Wadsworth led the Chargers with 15 points and six rebounds.

The Cossacks shot 26.5% from the field and were 5-for-20 from three. The Chargers shot 45.7% from the field and were 10-for-20 from three. Hamlin outrebounded Sioux Valley 30-24.

Sioux Valley takes on Sisseston Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Volga.
