PIERRE – Brookings senior Carolyn Hieb was named to the All-Eastern South Dakota Conference Girls’ Soccer Team.
League-champion Yankton (7-1) along with Brandon Valley and Pierre, who tied for second at 6-1-1, led the way with five honorees apiece.
The Lady Govs are the No. 1 seed in the Class AA State Girls’ Soccer Tournament and face second-seeded Stevens in the championship today at 6 p.m. at Sioux Park in Rapid City.
The third-seeded Gazelles reached the semifinals before falling 1-0 to the Raiders, while the fifth-seeded Lynx lost in the quarterfinals.
