BROOKINGS – The Brookings Wildlife Federation will host Tad Jacobs at its December Infolunch to be held at the Outdoor Adventure Center (2810 22nd Ave.) at noon Friday, Dec. 3.

Jacobs will speak about the importance of carrying on the tradition of hunting in South Dakota and how each of us can help make certain hunting is around for generations to come.

Jacobs is a member of the South Dakota Wildlife Federation and owner of the Sioux River Wildlife, a licensed game preserve providing guided pheasant hunting.

He is also founder of South Dakota Freedom Hunts, Inc. a non-profit organization dedicated to carrying on the hunting tradition for disabled individuals. The organization also conducts an annual youth hunt for young hunters who have passed hunter safety but have not had an in-field experience.

Jacobs is a retired family physician who served the Flandreau community for 28 years before joining the leadership team of Avera Medical Group. He lives on a farm northeast of Flandreau with his wife of 45 years, Kathy, where they enjoy spending time with their three children and six grandchildren. He volunteers for the Big Sioux Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation in Flandreau.

The infolunch is open to the public. A buffet lunch (free-will offering) will be available. The BWF is affiliated with the South Dakota Wildlife Federation and the National Wildlife Federation. The BWF is in its 40th year of supplying conservation information and activities to the Brookings community. For more information, contact BWF President Spencer Vaa at 605-695-6867 or incoming President Bob Kurtz at 605-695-1361.
