BRANDON – The Bullets split a youth baseball doubleheader with Brandon Valley on Monday at Aspen Park, dropping the opener 5-4 and winning the nightcap 10-2 in six innings.
Brookings (10-10) is host to Sioux Falls West in a twinbill tonight at 5.

Pinch-hitter Colin Simon came through with a walkoff double with one out in the seventh to lift the Lynx over the Bullets.
Sam Sonju singled with one away in the seventh to set the stage for Simon, who drove a pitch to left field to plate the winning run.
Sonju (RBI double), Cole Borchardt and Jack Krohnke each had two hits for the home team.
Landen Niehoff worked a scoreless top of the seventh, giving up one hit, to earn the pitching win. Starter Riley Miller allowed four runs – three earned – on five hits with five strikeouts and a pair of walks in six innings.
Brookings’ Braden Clifford had an RBI double. Josh Devine tripled.
Sam Hardin and Isac Norgaard both added a hit and an RBI. Payton Theodosopoulos and Joey McMacken contributed singles.
Hardin took the loss after allowing one run on three hits in 1 1/3 innings in relief. Devine, the starter, surrendered four runs – two earned – on five hits and seven walks with two strikeouts in five innings.

The Bullets got off to a fast start with four runs in the first inning and pulled away down the stretch.
Clifford earned the win on the hill after giving up two runs – one earned – on four hits with seven strikeouts and three walks in a complete-game effort. He went 2-for-3 with an RBI at the plate.
McMacken had a two-run double while also walking twice and scoring two runs.
Norgaard drove in two runs.
Hardin and Jett Leddy both contributed a hit and an RBI. Trey Svennes and Ethan Molengraaf singled.
