BROOKINGS – This year’s Festival of Lights parade grand marshal will be Brookings Health System, the Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Brookings Business District announced.
Brookings Health System will open the Festival of Lights parade at 7 p.m. Friday. The parade will travel south on Main Avenue, to Third Street, up Fifth Avenue, across Sixth Street, and back to Main Avenue. Announcements will be made from Cubby’s rooftop by Joel de Blonk of Brookings Radio.
“This year’s Parade Marshal is beyond deserving of this honor. Brookings Health System has been our community’s hometown hero, and we are glad to recognize them in the parade,” said Kaitlyn Luebbert, director of programming and special events for the Chamber of Commerce.
“It’s their dedication to providing high-quality, compassionate, personalized health care that has catapulted The Neighborhoods at Brookview nursing home to be a perfect, five-star facility, and Brookings Hospital to be recognized as a Top 20 Rural Community Hospital four out of five years,” the Chamber press release said.
