PIERRE – Brookings will be South Dakota’s Capital for a Day next Tuesday. Activities for the day will include a Main Street walk, community social, business tours and a roundtable meeting.
Citizens are encouraged to attend the community social at 10 a.m. at the Children’s Museum of South Dakota, 521 Fourth St., where community members will have the chance to talk one-on-one with Gov. Dennis Daugaard. At the social, the governor will proclaim Brookings Capital for a Day and give a speech.
First lady Linda Daugaard will accompany the governor for the day and will be participating in the Music Makers story time at the Brookings Public Library at 11 a.m. Children from the community are invited to join the first lady at the library.
Editor's note: A previous announcement from the library that the event was closed was not correct.
