Bobcat tennis falls in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG – Brookings dropped a pair of matches as part of a triangular held in Harrisburg on Thursday, falling 9-0 to Sioux Falls Lincoln, and 8-1 to the host Tigers.

The Bobcats host Sioux Falls Christian on Tuesday at the Hillcrest Tennis Courts.

At flight one singles, Tristina Ting fell in straight sets of 6-3 and 6-3 to Lincoln’s Elle Dobbs.

The Patriots Charlotte Crawford picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win over the Bobcats’ Paige Foster in flight two singles.

In flight three, Brea Tonsager fell 6-2, 6-1 to Bergen Quello, and in flight five, Hannah Okerman lost to Emma Derynck 6-2, 6-2.

Sophie Tanner dropped her match in flight six singles to Evy Osterloo, 6-4, 6-1.

In flight one doubles, Lincoln’s Dobbs and Crawford beat Brookings’ Ting and Foster 6-3, 6-2, and in flight three doubles, Derynck and Osterloo of Lincoln defeated Okerman and Tanner 7-5 and 6-3.

The Bobcats forfeited at flight four singles and flight two doubles due to injury.

Tristina Ting’s 10-6 win over Harrisburg’s Gabby Wabwire accounted for the Bobcats’ lone match win in the triangular.

In flights two through five, Paige Foster, Brea Tonsager, Elle Schulte-Coplan, and Hannah Okerman all fell 10-0.

Sophine Tanner lost to McKenzie Vickery 10-6 in flight six singles.

In doubles action, the Tigers picked up a 10-0 over Ting and Foster in flight one, a 10-1 win over Tonsager and Ally McKnight in flight two, and a 10-3 win over Okerman and Tanner in flight three.
