MITCHELL – Watertown as a team scored 302 and won by three strokes Friday’s Mitchell Invitational held at Lakeview Municipal Golf Course.
Bishop O’Gorman and Sioux Falls Lincoln both shot 305 and finished in a tie for second, while the home-standing Kernels posted a team score of 308 and placed fourth.
Brookings tallied 365 and finished 16th.
Individually, Lincoln’s Luke Honner fired a 67 to claim medalist honors, four strokes better than Mitchell’s Macon Larson who posted a score of 71.
O’Gorman’s Jacob Stewart scored 72 to place third.
The Bobcats’ low round of 83 came from Dylan VandeKop, good enough for a tie for 33rd place.
Dylan Johnson’s 86 put him in a tie for 42nd overall with five other golfers.
Brookings takes part in the Watertown Invitational today, hosted at Cattail Crossing Golf Course. Action gets underway at 10 a.m.
