BROOKINGS – Brookings Municipal Utilities is asking for residents’ continued cooperation and patience as the city deals with the impact of Thursday’s unprecedented rain event.
“We ask the public to continue limiting activities that impact the generation of wastewater through the weekend,” says a press release from BMU. “The wastewater treatment plant and collection systems are operating at or near their design capacity. It is essential that all sump pump piping be routed outside and not directly into the sanitary sewer.
“Thank you for your support while our staff continues to make this a high priority.”
