Beverly A. Schwing, 89, Brookings, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, at the United Living Community, Brookings. 

Beverly Anne was born August 29, 1930, to Joseph Harold and Elsie (Ott) Daniels near Sherburn in Martin County, MN. She was the oldest of twelve children. Beverly attended Jay Center rural school and Sherburn Elementary school until the family moved to a farm near Arco, MN in March 1942. 

She completed her education at Arco and Ivanhoe schools. Beverly worked in the First National Bank in Ivanhoe for eight years as bookkeeper, teller and auditor. She then worked in the Lincoln County ASCS Office for sixteen years before her marriage. 

She edited the Lincoln County Centennial Book in 1973, and was co-editor of the parish centennial history for Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Elkton in 1979. Beverly married Sebastian Schwing November 9, 1974 at Sts. Peter and Paul, Ivanhoe, MN. Sebastian was a widower with seven children who were the joy of her life. 

Her hobbies included photography, reading, quilting, knitting, crocheting, baking and history. 

Most especially she enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Beverly is survived by her husband Sebastian; six children, Cecilia (Ron) Cheney, Brookings; Dorothy (Joe) Popowski, Ann (Joe) Pavek, both of Ivanhoe, MN; Laura Schwing, Shakopee, MN; Edwin Schwing, Las Vegas, NV; and Elsie Schwing (Chris McCree), Brookings; 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and five siblings, David (Karen) Daniels, Rochester, MN; Tom Daniels, Arco, MN; Laurel (Houston) Meriwether, Nazareth, PA; Steve (Dana) Daniels, Maplewood, MN; and Daryl Daniels, San Francisco, CA,  and a son-in-law, Ron VanDenBroeke of Custer.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Gloria VanDenBroeke, granddaughter Allison VanDenBroeke, grandson Anthony VanDerBroeke, her parents, five brothers, Richard, Robert, James, Donald and Joseph, one sister Jeanne.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish, Brookings, with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Elkton. Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m .Thursday with a 7 p.m. wake service at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish.
