Arlington, ELB volleyball pick up victories Thursday

Arlington and Elkton-Lake Benton each picked up four-set victories in volleyball on Thursday. The Cardinals beat Dell Rapids St. Mary and ELB topped Colman-Egan.

Arlington 3, Dell Rapids St. Mary 1

The Cardinals defeated Dell Rapids St. Mary in four sets on Thursday night winning by scores of 25-21, 25-22, 23-25 and 25-20.

Natalie Burns led the way for Arlington, collecting 16 kills, 2 aces and a block. Tanaya Weiss also had a big night collecting 43 assists and three aces. Addie Steffensen had 20 digs for Arlington and Harley Johnson had 14 digs. Morgan Larsen also had 15 kills for Arlington.

Arlington is now 10-7 on the season and will play in a Sioux Falls tournament at the Sanford Pentagon on Saturday.

Elkton-Lake Benton 3, Colman-Egan 1

The Elks defeated the Hawks in four sets on Thursday night 25-22, 21-25, 10-25, 22-25.

Kadance Landis led the way for the Elks with 16 kills on the night. Daniella Lee had an all-around night with 21 digs, five kills, four assists and five blocks while Lainie Mousel had 20 assists, 16 digs and four blocks. Presley Luze added 14 digs and Brynlee Landis had 13 digs to go with five kills and six blocks.

Rachael Krog led the Hawks with 18 kills on the night with 20 digs and two blocks. Kailyn Drietz had 24 digs with nine kills, two aces and an assist while Andrea Renkley had nine kills, seven blocks, seven digs, one ace and one assist. Kyle Ramlo had 10 digs, nine kills and four blocks, Aubree Bates had seven blocks, four kills and three digs, Tevan Erickson had 41 assists, 16 digs, three kills and two assists and Kayla Goertz had 12 digs and two aces.

Elkton-Lake Benton improved to 11-2 with the win and Coleman-Egan fell to 9-4 with the loss. Both teams will take part in a Sioux Falls tournament at the Sanford Pentagon on Saturday.
