On Thursday, July 23, I was made aware of an act of great respect.
This was the day we buried our mother, Mary Parsley. Her funeral was at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
As we left the church to process to the cemetery we passed a group of young men practicing baseball. While I did not witness their actions I was told by many of my family that these young men ceased their activity, removed their caps and stood as the funeral procession moved past them.
My son returned after the burial to see if they were still practicing. At that time only three of these young men were present but he was able to thank them for their action.
I also want to say thank you to them and their teammates.
