PIERRE – Thirty-five athletic teams and fine arts groups from five area schools earned the Academic Achievement Team Award from the SDHSAA for the spring 2018-19 season.
Any varsity athletic team or fine arts group achieving a combined GPA of 3.0 or higher is eligible to receive the award.
Area recipients:
Brookings (10) – Yearbook, newspaper, boys’ tennis, boys’ track and field, student council, large group orchestra, large group chorus, girls’ track and field, girls’ golf and large group band.
Deubrook Area (8) – Lage group band, girls’ track and field, student council, boys’ track and field, girls’ golf, yearbook, large group chorus, boys’ golf.
Sioux Valley (7) – Large group band, girls’ track and field, yearbook, boys’ track and field, girls’ golf, student council, large group chorus.
Lake Preston (7) – Boys’ golf, girls’ golf, boys’ track and field, girls’ track and field, yearbook, newspaper, student council.
Oldham-Ramona (3) – Girls’ track and field, yearbook, student council.
