Four area softball players were honored by the South Dakota High School Softball Coaches Association on Tuesday as they were named either on All-State teams or as honorable mentions.
Class AA
Morgan Norgaard was the lone representative for Brookings as she was an honorable mention at the catcher position. Norgaard helped lead the Bobcats to a 10-8 record and they lost to Watertown in the SoDak 16.
Class B
Arlington had two representatives for Class B. Harley Johnson was named to the All-State team as an infielder and Sony Johnson was an outfielder honorable mention. Arlington finished the season with an 8-11 record and fell to Alcester-Hudson in the SoDak 16.
Elkton-Lake Bentons Ashya Flores was an All-State outfielder. The Lady Elks went 7-13 on the season but Flores helped them pull off the upset of top-seeded Bon Homme in the SoDak 16 and reach the State Tournament.
