BROOKINGS — The Brookings Area United Way’s Volunteer United program announced that the Feeding Brookings volunteers have been named the May 2026 Volunteer of the Month group, an area wide program sponsored by First Bank & Trust.
Feeding Brookings operates entirely through volunteers who work tirelessly each week to prepare, pack, distribute, and deliver food to local households in need. From sorting donations and assembling boxes to greeting guests and coordinating operations behind the scenes, this team consistently demonstrates compassion, teamwork, and reliability.
Their efforts help provide food and support to more than 400 households and over 1,000 individuals each week. The success of Feeding Brookings is a direct reflection of the commitment and generosity of this remarkable volunteer group.
Brynn Olverson, operations coordinator at the Brookings Area United Way, highlighted the group’s impact, saying, “Volunteers are truly the cornerstone of our community. Seeing so many individuals dedicate their time each week to support and uplift others is incredibly inspiring. We are deeply grateful for the lasting impact Feeding Brookings volunteers make through their generosity, compassion, and dedication.”
