Fundraiser held in Brookings for late hockey player

BROOKINGS — Friends and relatives of Cooper Deatherage held a lemonade fundraiser on May 29 in Brookings.

Deatherage died May 27 at his home in Brookings. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at GracePoint Wesleyan Church in Brookings.

Helping with the fundraiser were Gina Adamson, Ciara Jagar, Preston Jager, Sarina Hanson, Kamden Hanson, Kaleb Kirkham, Loren Hanson, Elliott Swisher and Nash Zweber.
