BROOKINGS – The Delta Dental Mobile Program will provide free dental care to those in need June 1-2 in Brookings as one of Brookings Area United Way’s offerings promoting a healthy community.

Appointments are exclusive to Brookings County children under age 21 who may otherwise not receive such care.

“Many in our community may have roadblocks to receiving such care, and children are often the most vulnerable to that impact,” according to Brynn Olverson, the operations coordinator for BAUW. “It can lead to school absences, future medical bills, and other health issues.”

The program expects to see approximately 50 patients during its June appointments.

“Past visits have welcomed young patients who received life-changing care. For some, it is their first trip to a dentist, while others leave knowing their dental health is on the right track,” Olverson said.

The specially equipped mobile dental center will return Dec. 7-8. Appointments can be made by calling 2-1-1.
