As the June 2 primary election approaches, I encourage you to vote to re-elect Roger DeGroot for District 7 House of Representatives. I have known Roger for almost 20 years, and as his former colleague, I am proud to support his run for another term to represent our district.
Being fortunate to work as his colleague for a number of years, I can tell you Roger is exactly the type of representative our community needs. He is fair, thoughtful and forward-thinking. He listens without judgment or bias and takes measured steps before acting. I saw, firsthand, the dedication and commitment Roger had for the tasks in front of him. As our representative, he brings this same thoughtful and deliberative approach to his work in the legislature.
As our legislator, Roger is a careful and conscientious steward of our taxpayer dollars. As a member of the House education committee, he has tirelessly worked to advocate for our educators, seeking solutions to workforce gaps in schools through the Teacher Apprenticeship Pathways program. He also fought to secure additional funds for SDSU to help support building maintenance.
As our legislator, Roger has kept Brookings and our community as his focus. He continually works to ensure the State of South Dakota is responsible with your tax dollars, while working to meet the needs of South Dakota so we can continue to grow and flourish. We could not ask for better representation.
